Speedway gearing up for third event
The racing program at All American Speedway is off to a great start for the 2018 season, and officials are looking for the growth to continue.
Bill McAnally Racing Promotions took over the operation of motorsports events at the third-mile oval at the Grounds in Roseville, with a long-term agreement that began in June.
“We’ve had an amazing start this season at All American Speedway,” said the track promoter McAnally. “Our partnership with Placer Valley Tourism and Placer County has met with great success. Our sponsors have contributed greatly in achieving that success, and the fans have responded in a big way.”
The track is offering increased prize money for the upcoming race on Aug.18. A boost in purse money for the Limited Modified division and the Super Stock A and B divisions will be based on an increased number of entries for each of those divisions.
“Our sponsors want to reward the racers who have been competing this year and provide some assistance and extra incentive to drivers in the area with race cars that have been sitting idle in recent years,” McAnally said. “This provides an excellent opportunity for them to get back on track.”
The feature race for the Limited Modifieds on Aug. 18 will be the Quick Quack Car Wash 60. A field of 20 or more entries for that event will push the winner’s purse up to $2,500, with $150 to competitors for taking the green flag. For 19 or fewer entries, however, that winner’s prize money will be $1,500.
There will also be more money on the line for drivers in the Super Stock A and B divisions on Aug. 18, provided by TriCo Welding Supplies Bonus Night. If the two divisions double their car count, they will be rewarded with double purses – with more than $10,000 up for grabs.
For the Super Stock A division, 12 or more cars will result in the purse being doubled; and for the Super Stock B division, 20 or more cars will net them a double purse. That number of entries will also result in separate feature events for the two divisions.
All eight local divisions will be in competition Aug. 18, capped off by the second trailer race of the year.
A special Late Model race, with a little twist, will be announced soon for the Sept. 8 event. Details will be made available on www.allamericanspeedway.com and the track’s Facebook page as they become available.
