Fugate and Demure share MVP honors for SFL boys volleyball

Locals fill boys volleyball all-league selections

Sierra Foothill League


ROSEVILLE – Del Oro, Granite Bay and Woodcreek landed eight boys volleyball players on the Sierra Foothill League’s All-League roster in 2018.


The Golden Eagles’ senior Dawson Fugate was co-MVP, along with Grizzlies’ junior JT Demure.


Demure finished at the top of the SFL in most statistical categories, including kills. Fugate led Del Oro in kills, aces and assists.



First Team Selections


Del Oro also landed middle blocker Tyler Rennie and outside hitter Sydney Mathias on the list. Rennie was a senior this season and Mathias a junior.


Senior Hunter Mortenson made the list as Granite Bay’s libero and junior outside hitter Daniel Patterson was also selected.


Senior middle blocker Cameron Williams made the roster for Woodcreek, along with Ryan Jew and senior setter Michael Clements. Jew was a junior outside blocker


Other selections were Nick Ashbaugh, Jordan Mills and Tanner Quiggle of SFL champion Nevada Union. Mills was a junior.


Oak Ridge added senior setter Addison Frese.
