Granite Bay Scrapbook 2
Celebrating a century
Date Published: February 2008
A birthday party was held on Jan. 6 at Mark and Monica's Sports Grill for Granite Bay resident Aneble J. (Al) Rose who was 100 years old on Jan. 8. Attending the party were 60 family members, friends and neighbors, some from as far away as San Diego, Albuquerque and the Canary Islands. Al was born in Castroville in 1908, the last of 14 children of Frank and Mary Rose, and has lived in California all of his life. Al still enjoys gardening, fine food and wine, and making birdhouses. A letter to Al from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger commemorating the special event was read to all attendees.
