Now it's easy being green

A new tool to teach kids how to go green is now available.
Friends Lindsay Arfsten of Granite Bay and Lori Bassham of Roseville joined forces to create a PowerPoint presentation with animation, video, music and sound effects aimed at educating and empowering children to make a difference in their home and community.
Arfsten, a corporate trainer, and Bassham, an elementary school teacher, combined their knowledge to create the presentation and are now seeking corporate partners to help expand the program.
"As we give simple solutions on how to conserve energy, water and paper, and why recycling is critical, we have interactive activities and would like to distribute earth friendly items to encourage them to go green at home," says Arfsten.
The duo is currently seeking companies or stores to donate funds for CFL bulbs, reusable bags, reusable safe water containers, lap top lunch boxes, T-shirts, hats and more. Companies are invited to sponsor items with their name and logo.
"We are looking for companies to donate money to offset the costs so we can bring this assembly to all schools," says Arfsten. "We welcome any involvement as our ultimate goal is to inspire every child to want to make a difference."
