To wives, husbands, family, lovers, friends, pals, significant others, ex's, acquaintances, secret admirers ... you name it:

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I am here to remind you of how you can express your love musically and to mention some romantic venues for the evening - with and without the tunes.

Some suggestions for Valentine's Day (Thursday, Feb. 14):

  • Scoop up your lover and ladle them to Spoons at 8230 Auburn Folsom Blvd., Granite Bay (797-2233). Delicious food by chefs Jeff and David, wonderful wine, relaxed atmosphere and the backdrop of Susan Burns and her romantic, musical style - a sensational choice.

  • Love talk about town at the Town Lounge, 1595 Eureka Rd., Roseville (789-1900). We know chef Roderick will have a delectable, tasty menu and a fabulous wine list too. And what better way to celebrate Cupid's arrow than with Town Lounge's romantic setting. Gaze into your lover's eyes to the sounds of Dave Bass Jazz.

  • Granite Bay is full of love and what better way to express it than through the love of food, wine and music. From Dominic's on Auburn-Folsom Boulevard to Hawks in Quarry Ponds (Valentine's Day lunch and dinner), Toast to Town, Spoons to a catered affair - express your love in more ways than one.

  • Serenade your lover and hire a romantic guitarist or swooning singer to captivate the night. A unique idea for your heart's desire.

  • Music has a way of opening your heart and mind to a new dimension, new experience and new sense. I recommend you share it with people you love.
