Granite Bay Scrapbook 6
Pioneering project
Date Published: October 2007
The Scouts and parent volunteers of Granite Bay Boy Scout Troop 121 gathered to build a tower out of log spars and rope on Sunday, Sept. 23. This annual pioneering project event demonstrates knot and lashing skills learned through many generations of Scouting and is becoming unique to a handful of BSA Troops around the country. This year's three tiered tower was constructed by Scouts ranging in age from 11 to 18. Once the bridge was completed, photos were taken on the structure, the Scouts enjoyed a barbecue and then they finished the day by disassembling the tower they had just created.
